Our client’s aim was to create a home where he and his new young family could live comfortably with his parents.
A place where they could share time together in the spacious kitchen/dining/living room area, but be able to retire to their own rooms when desired.
To achieve this goal, he retained the front and two sides of his 1930s detached house, doubled the depth and went up into the loft.
A modern, high spec SMART home was essential, but it also had to be future-proofed, which meant that one of the five bedrooms, all en suite, needed to be on the ground floor.
