Sometimes something that is on trend can become a classic and we think that’s what is happening with boucle. However, if you’ve never loved this fabric or feel it’s time to move on to something new, what are the alternatives?
The important detail is texture. Even in traditional finishes such as velvet and linen fabric designers are looking for something a bit more than a smooth finish.
Here are some favourite alternative choices from our design studio. Click on the images to see more of these projects.
If you’re not quite ready to give up your boucle, there are some half-way measures. A chenille/boucle mix like those below, far left, Muoto Stucco by Black Edition, centre Arlyn by Romo, is our favourite. There are also some interesting cotton-based textural weaves like that on the right, Confident by Casamance, too.
