We softened the corners of the room to give it an oval feel and introduced an oval coffer ceiling, we tiered the floor and installed automated lighting.
Our brief for an overseas client was to design an elegant bespoke home cinema/entertaining space, design seating not typically looking like a “Cinema chair”, keeping the walls free of artwork and to have a bar area.
The bespoke fretwork doors with the teardrop handle either side of the cinema screen are integral to the overall look, in continuing with this theme, the bar and the bespoke cabinet under the screen are finished in a deep matt bronze metal lacquer.
The furniture upholstered in plush velvet had the look of a comfortable sofa and chairs but was in fact adjustable, the coffee tables upholstered in velvet had removable trays.
To cover the soundproof walls was a Pierre Frey wall covering, the finish was a flat raw silk in a two-tone colour that accentuated the metal finishes.
Lighting was very important as it was the only ‘artwork’ in the room, we introduced Serip Lighting into the design and it created the look and finish that tied the whole design together. The LED strip lighting for the coffer ceiling and steps added the last finishing touches of creating a very atmospheric and elegant room.
