We got some great feedback from our last fashion and interiors post so when we saw the fabulous outfits on the red carpet for the Met gala we had to draw some interior inspiration. Of course we loved Lady Gaga and her triple threat outfit but we wanted to show two other fashionable guests that really caught our eye and made us inspired to look into how their look can be transferred into an interior.
Look 1
Dakota Johnson, Gucci.
This look is without doubt a stunning creation. From the powerful colour to the whimsical heart detailing at the centre of the dress, this outfit fits the Camp theme perfectly and is a stunning piece in it own right. We have been loving the mix of unexpected tonal colours such as pink and red. This gives great dimension and th pink really calms down the fiery red colour which works well in a more conservative interior. This could be brought through in soft furnishings such as a red chair set against a full and fresh pink curtain or if you’re feeling bold why not a lick of paint?
Look 2
Gigi Hadid, Michael Kors.
This look is much more abstract but we love how its done in a more muted colour palette with just white and gold. For interior inspiration we looked at a white base being mixed with gold metals as well as black and natural wood. Although this look is anything but natural, the honey tones in the wooden beams of the interior image create juxtaposition like the gold does with the white.
